Reel Creatives – Film-making grants
We have made our award for 2022. At this time, Reel is not accepting unsolicited proposals from filmmakers. New solicitations and film project openings will be published in September 2023.
Reel Relief – Humanitarian projects
Reel aims to be transparent about our operations. Therefore, it is essential to be clear to grant-seekers that most of our grantmaking is dedicated to furthering strategies with specific program goals or social awareness themes. Reel does not fund unsolicited proposals. We also do not fund grants to individuals, annual fundraising drives, paid advertisements, or political activities.
Reel Scholars – Film scholarships
Reel supports up to five scholarships each year. The 2022 class of Reel Scholars includes young filmmakers from the Middle East and Turkey. Additional scholarship opportunities will be featured on this page and on Reel social media platforms.

• This year, the foundation supported over 5,236 Syrian Refugees and IDPs in Syria, Turkey, and Jordan.
• 6.5 million USD was awarded to a Jordanian film production detailing the stories of five families affected by the Syrian conflict.
• 514 Syrian refugees were employed in the production of “The Strangers' Case” film.
• 28 speakers shared their stories regarding the Syrian conflict with “The Strangers' Case” cast and crew in Jordan and Turkey each day of the film shoot.
• 22,721 USD was awarded in scholarships to two Syrian refugee filmmakers to support their graduate degree studies at SAE and Istanbul University in Jordan and Turkey, respectively.
• 5,000 USD worth of adult and children’s clothing was donated to the TIAFI community center for Refugees in Turkey (90% of TSC wardrobe).
• Housed 770 Syrian IDPs through the donation of 63 tents in northern Syria. With a cost donation of 22,604 USD
• Two youth art and film workshops with Syrian refugee children were held in Jordan and Turkey with the participation of local and internationally acclaimed Syrian artists and the TSC film cast and crew.
